Karen A. Stalnecker, 77, of Darlington passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital.
Born August 21, 1946 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Ann (Dudick) Kotuby.
Karen graduated from Riverside High School and continued her education at Slippery Rock University. She retired from the Beaver Falls School District after 30 years as an Elementary School Teacher. She was a former Elder and Deacon at the Darlington First Presbyterian Church. She is now affiliated with Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Karen enjoyed traveling, card club, and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed and continued to spread knowledge after retiring as a teacher. Her most cherished time was spent with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Jim Stalnecker, brother, Michael Scott (Linda) Kotuby; two sisters in law, Shirley Dominelli and Pam Veiock; two stepdaughters, Amy (Brian) Moser and Jennifer (Steve) Alan; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday April 10 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Family and friends will also gather on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am at the Darlington First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Tim Casey of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Interment will follow in Seceder Cemetery.
