Keith D. Beachem

Keith D. Beachem, 80, of State Route 488, Portersville (Perry Twp.) died on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a short illness.

Born June 7, 1932 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Francis and Alberta Bartley Beachem. He was married for 61 years to Lazetta Bender Beachem as they were married October 27, 1951. She survives.

Keith retired in 1991 from Bell Telephone in Ellwood City where he was a switchman. He was a member and former trustee at the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church. Mr. Beachem graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950 and continued his education and graduated from Geneva College. He was a former Perry Twp. Supervisor, past member of the Ellwood City School Board, and one of the founding members and former trustee of Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

In addition to his wife, Lazetta, survivors include four sons, Linn Beachem of Portersville, Dennis (Barbara) Beachem of Ellwood City, Mark (Sussana) Beachem of Germany, John (Nan) Beachem of Portersville; two sisters, Janet (Don) Hinkle of Portersville, Jane (Allen) Cooper of Edinburg; brother, Russell “Dutch” (Sally) Beachem of Ellwood City; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter in law, Stevie Beachem, infant brother, Robert Beachem, and a granddaughter, Tessa Beachem.

Visiting hours will be held Monday April 22, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

Funeral Services will be held at the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 11:00 am with his pastor, Rev. Jean Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
