Laura E. Sheldon

Laura E. Sheldon, 86, of Perry Twp. (formerly of Old Pittsburgh Rd, Wampum) passed away peacefully at her home with her daughter and son in law at her side on Sunday, December 21, 2014 following a lengthy illness.

Born November 27, 1928 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Frances E. Stevenson Gardner. She was married on December 18, 1953 to Donald A. Sheldon who passed away in 1997.

Laura graduated from Lincoln High School. A homemaker, she was a member of the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Ruth Circle.

Survivors include daughter, Debbie (Larry) Woods of Portersville; sister, Gladys M. (Robert) Martin of Butler; three brothers, Richard H. Gardner of Wampum, Albert C. (Patty) Gardner of Greenville, Charles R. (Lillie) Gardner of Ellwood City.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy E. Christie in 1996 and a brother, Chester A. Gardner in 2014.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday December 23, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

Funeral Services will be held at the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 10 am with her pastor, Rev. Julia Williamson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Slippery Rock Church Cemetery.
