Lillian I. Cowles

Lillian I. Cowles, 99, formerly of West Pittsburg and Struthers, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Overlook Medical Clinic following an extended illness.

Born March 17, 1914 in North Beaver Twp., she was the daughter of the late Walter S.and Mary Moltz Wigley. She was married for 43 years to William C. Cowles who passed away October 26, 1987.

Lillian was a practical nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 23 years. She formerly attended Moravia Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Maue of Mesquite, Nevada; a son, William Cowles of Mesa, Arizona; six grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sixteen great great grandchildren; eight great great great grandchildren; and a good friend, Dora Mae Kumrow.

The last surviving member of her generation, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Arthur, Earl, Clyde, Carl, Paul, and Warren Wigley and five sisters, Goldie Butera, Dorothy Hergenrother, Mary Alice Barnum, Ethel Kwolek, and Nettie Brooks.

A Private Memorial service was held at the Westfield Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 9 with Rev. Mathew Bupp officiating.
