Linda L. Brown

Linda L. Brown, 70, of Fountain Ave. Ellwood City passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp. following a brief illness.

Born September 28, 1946 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Nettie Collins Myers. She was married for 50 years to Dale A. Brown as they were married November 11, 1966. He survives.

Linda graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. She had previously worked at Airway Industries, Shop and Save and the Butler Auto Auction. Linda was a faithful member of the First Church of God in Ellwood City. She enjoyed going on family camping trips and spending time with “Gabby”, her golden retriever. She also enjoyed attending parades and performances of the Syria Highlanders Pipe Band of which she was a member. Her most cherished time was spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Dale, survivors include a daughter, Jodi L. (James) Goebel of Wampum; a son, William D. (Cindy Williams) Brown of Greensburg; a sister, Carol A. (Gary) Lough of New Castle; two sisters in law and their husbands, CynthiaA. (Henry) Glogowski of Gambrills, MD and Patricia R. (Randy) Chronister of Slippery Rock; a special aunt and uncle, Shirley and William Collins of Princeton; and three grandchildren, Jamie L. Goebel, Madison R. Brown and William D. Brown Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday February 1 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 am with her pastor, Rev. Phil Conklin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Herman Cemetery.
