Linda White

The family of Linda White is saddened to announce her passing on December 17, 2017 due to complications from surgery. Strong willed and courageous, Linda fought hard the last 59 days with her husband and her daughters by her side.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Hazel Bemis, her sons Dale Weilacher Jr. and Boyd Weilacher, her husbands Bill Lutz and Jay Leonard, her siblings Bud Bemis, Monroe Fehlman, Gladys Fehlman, Pauline Rogers, Cora Ishman, Marilyn Bemis , and Gean Becker.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard White; devoted children, Judy and Teddy Brown, Denise and Dave Craft; beloved grandchildren Hannah, Zacchary, Brandeis, Matthew and Ryan; cherished great-grandchildren Cayden, Adelynn Brooke, Adeline Rose and Za’mora; Brothers Glenn (Donnie) Bemis and Carl (Jane) Bemis; Nieces Dawn (Cline) Adams and Jenny (Larry) Gray; her step-children Rob White, Brenda Hall and Rhonda Pritchett; special family member Bobby Evans; best friend of more than thirty years, Ann Jones and recent traveling friend Marguerite Sweeney.

Born and raised in Youngsville, PA, Linda lived most of her adult life in Tidioute, PA and recently resided with her husband in Meadville, PA.

Linda was an avid traveler with a free spirit. She was always planning the next trip or vacation, loving all the fishing trips to Canada or the many vacations at the ocean. She had a passion for the water and found a lot of joy just being nearby.

Richard shares her love of traveling and took her on the trip of a lifetime driving across Canada to British Columbia visiting Radium Springs, then south into Washington State, The Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, The Badlands in South Dakota with a leisurely return to their home. She loved riding on the motorcycle with her husband and with him was a member of The Western PA Retreads Club. She enjoyed worshipping with Richard at The Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Cochranton, PA.

Her love for her family was heartwarming and especially evident with her grandchildren. Her zest for fun, games, fishing and swimming was often with her grandchildren, each one holding a special place in her heart. Her and each child shared a special bond born of love, caring and the desire to have fun together. Her adventures with her four kids included many hikes through the woods, picking berries, finding the best swimming hole, cruising in the old corvair, listening to the radio and singing at the top of our lungs. Every Sunday she was able, she looked forward to and enjoyed family dinner at Jenny’s with her brother Carl’s family. She made the most of her time with her loved ones, sharing in the fun and her love for adventure.

Linda didn’t allow others to confine her with silly rules or expectations. She lived life and created fun in her own wild and eccentric way, encouraging those around her to let loose and liven up a party. She touched so many hearts with her giving spirit. She had so many close friends she considered family. Her passion for others was a driving force throughout her life. She never met a stranger. She always took time to listen and hoped to help in healing others.

Family, friends and those who wish to share a funny story or special memory are invited to join us in a “come as you are” celebration of Linda’s life at the Tidioute Firehall on January 6, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in her memory may do so with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
