Lois Vance McAnlis, 88, of New Galilee passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Curahealth Heritage Valley following a brief illness.

Born September 2, 1929 in Wampum, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Beck Vance . She was married for 67 years to Wayne Sleath McAnlis who passed away February 20, 2018.

Lois graduated from Wampum High School in 1947. She was an active member of the Galilean Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Deacon and she also made the communion bread. She was a member of the Big Beaver/Mahoning Valley Grange. She was also a member of the Pomona and PA State Granges. She enjoyed bird watching, sewing, needlework, and baking. She also maintained a large garden from which she canned her produce. Her most cherished time was spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include five sons, Thomas W. McAnlis of Belgrade, Montana, Rev. John S. (Rev. Karin) McAnlis of Pennington, New Jersey, Dale E. (Faith) McAnlis of New Galilee, William A. (Jackie) McAnlis of Newburg, PA, Wallace E. McAnlis of New Castle; two daughters, Anita M. (Barry) Peffer of Volant, Margaret Ruth (Tim) Grim of New Tripoli, PA; a sister, Margaret Negley of Newville, PA; 19 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Worrall and a grandson, Jeremy McAnlis.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 9 from2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum. Funeral Services will be held at the Galilean Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. C.F. Hoffman officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Galilean Presbyterian Church.
