Louise A. Young

Louise A. Young, 93, of Ellwood City died on  Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Mary Evans Extended Care Unit of the Ellwood City Hospital following an extended  illness.

Born August 2, 1918 in Marion Twp., PA,  she was the daughter of the late Burton and Wilda Vincent Atwell.  She was married in 1954 to the late Dale Young.

Mrs. Young retired from the Ellwood City School District, where she taught 1st Grade in the West End Elementary School for 42 years.  She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church and their Tuesday morning quilting group.  She enjoyed quilting, reading, playing cards, and traveling.

Survivors include two sisters – Helen Atwell of Erie,  Edith Stewart of North Olmsted, OH; nieces – Marcia (Thomas) Stegna of North Olmsted, OH, Judy (Chuck) Miller of Masury, OH; nephew – William Stewart of North Olmsted, OH; great nieces – Jennifer, Kim and Kelly Stegna; and her special friend and caregiver, Kathy Varrato of Ellwood City.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister – Erla Atwell and a brother in law – William Stewart.

Visiting hours will be held on  Saturday July 28, 2012 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at  12:00 pm  at Christ Presbyterian Church.   Her pastor, Rev. Todd Custer will officiate.

Interment will follow in Clintonville Cemetery.
