So I’ll cherish the Old Rugged Cross, till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the Old Rugged Cross, and exchange it someday for a crown. Margaret L. “Peg” Warnick, 78, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
Born October 13, 1937 in Wampum, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Julie Andrews Seaburn. She married her husband Elmer Warnick Sr, who passed away in 1989, and together they raised three children, Elmer Warnick Jr who passed away in 2013, George E. (Sheila) Warnick of New Castle and Lisa (Randy) VanKirk of New Galilee to whom she devoted her life.
Peg worked and enjoyed many jobs, including TicToc, the Cathedral, Primary Care, and the New Castle Library where she loved taking pictures and working on crafts with the children. She was a member of Lawrence County REACT, Galilean United Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, and the LMBA Club in Galilee where she loved playing bocce.
In addition to her two children, she is survived by six grandchildren, Melissa Lyles, Richard , Matt, and Danny Warnick, Stephanie VanKirk Ruby, and Kelly VanKirk Quear; and six great grandchildren, Lily Warnick, Jordan Walsh, Alissa and Cameron Lyles, and Oakley and Magnolia Ruby.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Elmer Warnick Jr., great grandson, Drayden Warnick, and four sisters, Viola Colundrello, Mildred Gallagher, Linda Hill, MatildaYhelka, and four brothers, John, Robert, Thomas and James Seaburn.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday May 20 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 am with her pastor, Rev. C.F. Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow in Castleview Memorial Park.
