Marian “Dot” Cunningham, 85, of Harmony Baptist Rd., New Castle (Shenango Twp.) died on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a brief illness.
Born March 7, 1927 in Castlewood, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel Hogue White. She was married to the late Earl “Bud” Cunningham who passed away in 2003.
Dot was a clerk at the former Picway Shoe Store in New Castle for 12 years. She was an active member of the Castlewood Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she was a Deaconess, former choir member, and a Sunday School Teacher since 1946. She enjoyed bowling, camping and traveling. Dot was known for her homemade pies which everyone loved.
Survivors include a son, Richard Cunningham of Boardman, Ohio and a sister in law, Vicki White of Castlewood.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Irvine and three brothers, Ray and Jack White and another in infancy.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday January 28, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Friends will also be received from 10:30 until the time of the funeral services at 11 am at the Castlewood Christian and Missionary Alliance Church on Tuesday. Her pastor, Rev. James O’Hara will officiate. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
