Marie Fanning, 88, of Plymouth Lane, Ellwood City, passed away at her residence on October 12, 2012 following a brief illness.
Born on July 23, 1924 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Bellezzie Curcio. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Fanning, whom she married on October 5, 1946.
A member of Holy Redeemer Church, she was also a life master duplicate bridge player and an avid reader.
Survivors include a daughter, Trisha Houk of Ellwood City; a sister, Veronica Rodia of Swarthmore, Pa.; three granddaughters, Kayla Houk Colarossi of Kansas, Laura Fanning and Amy Fanning, both of Lancaster, Pa., and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Fanning Jr., and a son-in-law, Jay Houk.
Friends will be received at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City, on Wednesday October 17, 2012 from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Church at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum.
