Mark Konyak, 54, of North Camp Run Rd., Fombell died on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at UPMC Cranberry Hospital as a result of a motorcycle accident on Rt. 288 in Butler County.
Born April 12, 1958 in Ellwood City, PA, he was the son of Fred and Patty Steckman Konyak of Ellwood City. He was married on May 12, 2000 to Karen Hickok Konyak, who survives.
Mark retired in 2009 from Inmetco following 30 years of service. He currently was an equipment operator for Lindy Paving and owned Mark Konyak Excavating. Mark graduated from Vo-Tech in 1976. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and playing volleyball. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Karen, he is survived by three stepchildren; Travis (Deanna) Weisz of Fombell, Jody (Tim) St. John of Wampum, Michael (Gale) Weisz of Enon Valley; a sister, Gwen (Bill) Gottuso of Ellwood City; two brothers Eric (Katie) Konyak of Zelienople, Curt (Stacy) Konyak of Ellwood City; mother in law, Norma Hickok of New Castle; maternal grandmother, Ruth Steckman of Ellwood City; five grandchildren, Allison St. John, Ava, Alex, Madison, and Chase Weisz; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 9, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Friends will also be received at the funeral home from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 on Friday, August 10, 2012.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
