Marsha J. McDowell, 72, of Boardman, (formerly of Mt. Jackson) passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cuyahoga County following a short illness surrounded by her loving family.
Born February 11, 1950 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Clarence C. and Mary Kauffman Hepler. She was married to Robert C. “Charlie” McDowell on May 11, 1979. He passed on August 16, 2017.
Marsha worked for the USPS as a postal clerk and deputy postmaster, primarily in Enon Valley and also other local locations until her retirement. She was a member and former deacon of the Mt. Jackson Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and offering her time and talents to better her community. She also enjoyed walking her golden retriever Remie. Above all, she cherished moments with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Peddicord of Ocala, FL and Chrissy Benavides of Cumming, GA; two sons, David (Joanie) Lewis of Poland and Bryan (Kristin) McDowell of Aurora, OH; sister, Lana Jo (Wayne) Guthrie of Ellwood City; sister in law, Jean Hepler of Dallas and 9 grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Ron Hepler.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday July 29, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum. Pastor Steve Plyler will officiate.
Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery in New Castle.
