Martha Jean Gilkey Scott

Martha Jean Gilkey Scott, 87, of Scott Wallace Rd., Enon Valley (Little Beaver Twp.)  died on  Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Covington Nursing and Rehab Center in East Palestine, Ohio following an illness.

Born December 28, 1924 in North Beaver Twp., she was the daughter of the late Loyal W. and Grace C. Stewart Gilkey.  She was married for 65 years to John A. Scott who survives.

Jean liked working on the family farm, raising chickens, and selling their eggs.  She also enjoyed cooking and sewing. Her most cherished time was spent caring for her family.  She was Protestant by faith.

In addition to her husband, John, survivors include two sons, John E. (Betty) Scott, James G. (Lori) Scott  both of Enon Valley; two daughters – Susan E. (Ken) Stull of Fredonia, PA, Marilyn K. (Keith) Eichhorn of Pickerington, OH; eleven grandchildren: and seven great grandchildren.

The last of her family, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald L., George M., and Arthur S. Gilkey

Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 17, 2012 from 4-7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.  Friends will also be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 until the time of the funeral services at 11 am.  Rev. Mark Tippin of the Bethel United Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Interment will follow in Little Beaver Cemetery.
