Martha L. Burns, 76, formerly of Pershing St. Ellwood City passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehab Center in Butler.
Born June 30, 1941 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late James and Esther Shaffer Marshall.
Martha graduated from Lincoln High School. She retired from the Ellwood City Children’s Center where she enjoyed taking care of the infants. Her most cherished time was spent with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Don (Daron) Burns of Ellport, Tim (Annie Novakovich) Burns of Beaver Falls; daughter, Ruthann (Mark) Dillaman of Ridgeville, PA; sister, Catherine Thompson, brother, Bill Marshall, and sister in law, Sue Marshall all of Ellwood City; five grandchildren, Chris Burns, Justin and Eric Shoaf, and Tim and Ashley Burns; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Bolland and two brothers, Lawrence and Bob Marshall.
Martha’s friends and family will be received on Wednesday January 3 from 3 until the time of the funeral service at 6 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor Bruce Gardner of the Berean Presbyterian Church will officiate. Private interment will follow in Camp Run Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
