Mary Ann Buzzelli

Mary Ann Buzzelli, 88, of Mercer Rd., Ellwood City passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Beaver Valley Rehabilitation Center following a one year illness.

Born June 27, 1925 in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of the late Silvestro and Angelina Stellato Pasquarelli.

Mary retired in 1990 from the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy in Beaver Falls where she was the director since its opening. While at the Beauty Academy, she was actively involved in fundraising for Children’s Hospital, being recognized in 1984 for raising the most money of all the Beauty Academies in the Pittsburgh Area. Mary enjoyed baking cookies for her family and friends at Christmas time and for weddings. She also enjoyed canning and cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph J. Buzzelli, whom she married on November 30, 1974, two stepchildren, Randy (Barbara) Buzzelli of Niantic, Connecticut, Dona (Bill) Jamison of Wampum; sister and brothers, Theresa (Lou) Muscatello, John Pasquarelli and Frank (Alice) Pasquarelli, all of New York; three grandchildren, Joseph Buzzelli, Karla Wilbanks, Kyle Jamison; five great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Pasquarelli, and a sister, Josephine Kaczor.

Per Mary’s wishes, no visitation will be held. A private service will be held at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in New York.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home.
