Mary B. Moyer

Mary B. Moyer, 90, of Smiley Stop Rd., Wayne Twp. passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Sharon Regional Hospital.

She was born in Ellwood City on March 6, 1923. She was the only child of the late John and Alice Matheny Pappas .

Mary lived her entire life in Wayne Twp. She was of the Presbyterian faith and attended Lincoln High School. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her passions in life were reading, crafts, crocheting, her animals, gardening and most of all her family.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory six daughters, Margaret (Richard) Badger of Wampum, Jean Moyer of East Palestine, Ohio, Sally Ann (Edward R.) Bennethum of Fombell, Helen Mort of Berlin, PA, Noreen (Donald) Peffer Jr. of Chambersburg, Melanie (James) Quinn of Ellwood City; seven sons, John (Lee Ann) Moyer, Alan Moyer, Edward (Robin) Moyer, Robert (Beverly) Moyer, all of Wampum, James (Laura) Moyer of Plymouth, Minnesota, Thomas (Linda) Moyer of Shippensburg, Brian Douglas Moyer of Ellwood City; 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Walter H. Moyer who passed away February 22, 2012, a daughter, Mary Rose and a great granddaughter, Victoria Mort

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 28 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Thomas O’Brien, Minister of the First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
