Mary E. Driemeyer, 99, of Martin Ave., Ellwood City (Ellport) died on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Evergreen Nursing Center.
Born July 7, 1913 in Wurtemburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Kitty Barnes White. She was married to William Driemeyer who died in 1989.
Mary graduated from Lincoln High School in 1932. Mrs. Driemeyer was an active member of the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and visiting with her neighbors. She also enjoyed traveling, especially several trips to Alaska. Mary raised Boston Terriers and won several ribbons with her show dogs .
Survivors include five nephews, Dale (Dorothy) White, John “Pat” (Barb) White, David White and Thomas White, all of Ellwood City, Jim (Eileen) White of Beaver Falls, one niece, Diana Campbell of Slippery Rock, a number of great nieces and nephews and a special friend, Joanie Goodman.
The last of her family, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hannah Lersch, Ida Whybrew, and two brothers, Homer “Pete” White and George Emerson White.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday September 26, 2012 from 11 until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Her pastor, Rev. Dr. Daniel Stinson will officiate.
Interment will follow in Wurtemburg Cemetery.
