Mary Jane Clark

Mary Jane Clark, 82, of Mt. Air Rd., New Castle (New Beaver Boro) died on  Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Jameson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Born August 27, 1929 in North Beaver Twp., she was the daughter of the late James Clarence and Mary Fleming McConaghy Gardner.   She was married on May 2, 1953 to Delmar B. Clark who passed away on January 11, 2009.

Loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary Jane was an active lifelong member of the Bethel United Presbyterian Church.  She served as Youth Group Leader and taught catechism to a generation of youth at the church.  Although having a large family of her own, Mary Jane loved helping children as she was a Girl Scout Leader for 45 years.  She enjoyed gardening, working outside, and animals.

She is survived by seven children, Carol (Daniel) Clark-Elliott of West Lafayette, IN, E. Richard (Charlene) Clark of Philomath, OR, Robert D (Cynthia J.) Clark of New Wilmington, Kay S. (Arthur L.) Carran of Fairfield, OH, Mary Segura of New Castle, James R. (Jill M.) Clark of Lancaster, PA, Thomas R. (Emily N.) Clark of Nazareth, PA; three sisters, Jean Miles and Elinore Davis, both of Wampum, Janet Dawson of Enon Valley, twenty two grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. James L. Gardner and Dr. Thomas A. Gardner; and a sister, Margaret Andeman.

Friends will be received at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St. Wampum on  Saturday November 24, 2012 from 9:30 until the time of the procession to the Bethel United Presbyterian Church for the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Her nephew, Rev. Dr. Don Dawson will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
