Nancy L. Campbell

Nancy L. Campbell, 83, of Enon Valley, formerly of Wampum passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 21, 2021, following complications from a fall in November.

Nancy was born at Providence Hospital in Beaver Falls on October 6, 1937, to the late Charles “Chick” Higgins and Mary Salvano Higgins. She retired from Chippewa Construction in 2012 where she worked for 35 years as a Building Manager at Jenny Gardens Apartments. Nancy was a 1955 graduate of Beaver Falls High School. She was very active in the Wampum community where she served as past president for the Wampum Women’s Club. Over the years, Nancy held each office for the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 749, including past president on several occasions. She was a devout Catholic with tremendous faith. She was an active member of the Holy Redeemer parish in Ellwood City. Nancy was also very active at the former St. Monica’s parish in Wampum for many years until its closing. There she served on Parish Council, Alter and Rosary Society and Christian Mothers. She loved her family more than anything, especially her kids and grandchildren. Nancy truly loved everyone, and was loved by everyone who met her. She had a great sense of humor, always had a smile on her face, and was never without a kind word. Her best memories were with her family and friends, especially their Christmas Eve family traditions, the parties and gatherings at the Wampum Legion, and many trips and vacations, especially to Italy. Her wonderful and many friends were very dear to her, especially her Wampum friends and “Gals of ‘55” friends from high school that met every month for lunch, until Spring of 2020 when COVID arrived.

Nancy is survived by three daughters, Carin A. Campbell, of Nyack, New York, Cathy L. Campbell of Bessemer and Julie (Jared) Van Kirk of Enon Valley; three grandchildren, Maryssa Gabriel of Bessemer, R.J.
