Nellie Bessell Strickler

Nellie Bessell Strickler, 87, of Shenango Township, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Haven Nursing Home in New Castle.

Born December 13, 1934 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Della Martin Bessell. She was married to Richard C. Strickler for 56 years when he passed away on November 27, 2007.

She attended Savannah United Methodist Church her whole life where she was a member of the over 55 Group. She enjoyed painting and crafts. Her most cherished moments were spent with family.

Survivors include two sons, Rick (Kathy) Strickler and Dan (Karen) Strickler; three daughters, Judy (Bud Myers) Jeffcoat, Debbie (Jim Clingensmith) Marino, and Joanne Wolthers all of Shenango Township; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Dora Jane Craven, Joanne Aiken, one brother, Eugene Bessell, and two great grandchildren Brittany and Savannah.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday May 15, 2022 from 2:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 5:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum.

Rev. Mark Goswick and Adam Goswick will officiate.

Interment will follow in Savannah Cemetery.
