Nellie R. Mielke

Nellie R. Mielke, 90, of Grigsby St.  New Castle (Shenango Twp.)  died on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Haven Nursing Home.

Born September 5, 1922 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Minnie Minteer Cotton.  She was married to the late Everett L. Ayersman and then to the late Louis A. Mielke.

Nellie was a waitress at many area eating establishments. She was also a private babysitter.  Nellie enjoyed cooking, quilting and traveling.

Survivors include a daughter in law, Agnes Ayersman of New Castle; sister, Margaret (Mont) McBride of New Galilee; brother, Clarence (Helen) Cotton of Enon Valley; six granddaughters – Caprice Wiley, Kitty Ayersman, Lori Ayersman, Tina (Gary) Shay, Renee (Shawn) DeJohn, Regene (Rob) King; three grandsons, Paul  Ayersman, Robert (Cheryl) Ayersman Jr., Richard (Suzette) Ayersman;  twenty four great-grandchildren; and nine great great-grandchildren and one great great great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sons; Paul E. Ayersman and Robert A. Ayersman Sr.; a brother, Harold Cotton, three sisters, Mabel Carnes, Bessie Mulcahy, and Gladys Shaftic.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday September 20, 2012 from 5 to 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday,  September 21, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Nail of the Pilgrim Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
