Nick A. Dando Jr.

Nick A. Dando Jr., 80, of Canal St. Wampum (Wayne Twp) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on  Monday, March 26, 2012 at his residence following a short  illness.

Born May 31, 1931 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Nick A. and Jessie M. Ross Dando Sr.

He was married for 52 years to Delores “Dolly” Dando as they were married May 9, 1959.  She survives.

Nick retired from Babcock & Wilcox with over 25 years of service.  He served in the Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War Time.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing,  playing cards, gardening, and woodworking.  His most precious time was spent with family.

In addition to his wife, Dolly, he is survived by 2 daughters – Amy (David) Ramage of Bedford, TX, Susan Dando of Wampum; 2 sisters – JoAnn Faraoni of New Castle and Virginia Valle of Erie; and 3 grandchildren – Hayden, Lindsey & Jordan.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers – Patsy, Louis, Robert “Tobey” Dando and Anthony in infancy, and 2 sisters – Irene DeCesare and Ann Marie Gebbia.

Friends will be received on Thursday,  March 29, 2012  from 11 am until the time of the Blessing Service at 12 noon at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St. Wampum. Rev. Father Louis Pascazi will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.  Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard.
