Nora J. Allen

Nora J. Allen, 79, of Scotland Lane, New Castle died on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a short illness.

Born July 21, 1934 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Glen B.and Bernice Yoho Hennon. She was married for 54 years to Frank Dick Allen who passed away March 16, 2014.

Nora had a long and active career as a book keeper for various businesses in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. She graduated from Lincoln High School and from the New Castle Business College. She was a lifelong member of the Chewton Christian Church. She enjoyed girls softball where she was a former coach.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Allen of Chewton; three sons, Daniel (Kim) Allen of Chewton, David Allen of Somerset, Jim (Kelli) Allen of Apex, North Carolina;a sister, Glenda (Dale) Kelly of Wampum; five grandchildren, Ryan (Shauna) Mulhollen, Kyleigh, Taylor, Thomas and Derrick Allen; and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Madison Mulhollen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Charles B. Hennon.

Visiting hours will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday May 8 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the Chewton Christian Church with Pastors Gene Hydrick and Mike Wimer officiating.

Interment will follow in the Slippery Rock Church Cemetery.
