Norman E. McKinney, 85, of Brighton Rd., Ellwood City (North Sewickley Twp.) passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the VNA Hospice in Butler following a brief illness.
Born August 16, 1932 in Frisco, he was the son of the late Walter McKinney and the late Thelma Bartle McKinney Smith. He was married for 63 years to Rosalie Hover McKinney who survives.
Norman retired after 37 years from Babcock and Wilcox in Beaver Falls where he worked in the Eastworks Shipping Dept. He was an active member of the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon, and member of the choir. He was a longtime Volunteer for the North Sewickley Fire Department Station # 2. Norman was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed being a member of Challenges for over 18 years. His most cherished time was spent with his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Kevin (Audrey) McKinney; two daughters, Debby (Cliff) Boring and Pam (Ed) Coates, all of Ellwood City; two sisters, Helen Burns of Ellwood City, Joanne Piccirillo of Lowellville, Ohio; six grandchildren, Kevin (Normita) McKinney, Danielle McDowell, Kayla and Krista Boring, and Jennifer and Denise Coates; two step grandchildren, Dan and Ken Ghoering; eighteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter McKinney.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Friends will also be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am. His pastor, Rev. Rob Guy will officiate. Interment will follow in Wurtemburg Cemetery.
