Norman L. Welsh

Norman L. Welsh, 90, of Hoffman Ave., Ellwood City (North Sewickley Twp.)  died on  Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a brief illness.

Born December 9, 1922 in Ellwood City,he was the son of the late Benjamin H. and Sara Jane (Yoho) Welsh.  He was married for 57 years to Lenora “Nora” G. Lutz Welsh who passed away on December 12, 2002.

Norman worked for R.E. Lutz and Sons for 20 years.  He then worked for 6 years and retired from A.R. Oliastro’s Inc.  He was a 17 year member of the Ellwood City Art Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Norma (Gary) McKenna of Ellwood City, Susan (Thomas) Friters of Chapmanville, PA; four grandchildren, Joel (Sheri) McKenna of Ellwood City, Jamie (Mark) Richards of Ellwood City, Ashley (Matthew) Ernst of Lincoln University, PA,  Joshua (Sara) Friters of Chapmanville; nine  great grandchildren, Cord and  Brody McKenna, Conner and McKenna Richards, Avery, Skylar, and Zoey Ernst, Jacob and Emma Friters; and a sister, Sara Gallaher of Ellwood City.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Kenneth, William and Benjamin Welsh, and three sisters, Lavada Sobeski, Laverna Ruth Schilling, and Margaret Welsh in infancy.

Friends will be received on Thursday, December 20 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 am with Rev. Dennis Arndt of Lillyville Church of God officiating.

Interment will follow in the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
