Norman R. Cearfoss Sr.

Norman R. Cearfoss Sr., 77, of 115 Jessie St. Ellwood City (Hardyville) died on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Shadyside Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born October 13, 1934 in Koppel, he was the son of the late Thomas G. and Rachel Reeher Cearfoss.

Norman retired from Babcock and Wilcox following 33 years of service as a crane operator. He also worked in later years for Russell Trucking Co. and Koppel Steel. He enjoyed horses, the outdoors and attracting wildlife to his backyard..

Survivors include his companion of seven years – Charlotte Richards of Hardyville; son – Norman “Rick” (Debbie) Cearfoss Jr. of Ellwood City; 3 daughters – Susan Antoniotti, Sharon Taranto (Scott Forney), both of Ellwood City, Norma (Lee) Prengaman of Portersville; 7 grandchildren – Joseph and Michael Taranto, Amy Sullivan, Haley Antoniotti, and Bill, Ted and Andy Prengaman; and on great grandchild – Benjamin Prengaman. He is also survived by his former wife – Delpha Scheidemantle Cearfoss of Ellwood City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers – Thomas and Harold Cearfoss.

Per Norman’s request, no services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home – Ellwood City.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society or the Ellwood City Library.
