Olive G. Cearfoss, 82, of Koppel, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Rochester Manor.
Born April 17, 1932 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Ubry) Joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Cearfoss who passed away July 8, 2003, a brother, Daniel Joy; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Cearfoss.
Olive was a homemaker raising her three children. She later worked at Pavlovic’s Market and Anne’s Deli and Consignment in Koppel. She volunteered for many organizations in Koppel, including the Koppel United Methodist Church; the concession stand for various youth athletics; St. Teresa Catholic Church’s ziti dinners; Koppel Fire Department’s Christmas events for children, Koppel’s Memorial Day services, among others. She was also presented with an award from the community of Koppel in appreciation of her volunteer services. She was a member of the Koppel United Methodist Church. She was also an avid Bingo player and loved to crochet.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Cearfoss of Koppel, Dean Cearfoss of Spanish Fort, AL; daughter, Linda (Bill) Young of Daugherty Twp.; a sister, Ruth (Jack) Atchison of New Brighton, brother, Paul Joy of Chippewa; ten grandchildren, Christine Cearfoss, Samantha and Brittany Schmidley, Annie, Robert, and Alexa Cearfoss, Nicholas, Donnovan, and Giavonni Ritchie, Wendy Crist, William and Robert Young; four great grandchildren, Erin, Alexa, Seraphina, and Damien.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday June 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 am with Rev. Tracy Cox of the New Brighton United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, if desired, to the Koppel United Methodist Church, 2517 Second Ave. Koppel, PA 16136.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to those who cared for Olive, including St. Teresa Hospice, Rochester Villa and Manor, including the administrative staff. Please know your kindness to my mother and others like her is truly a blessing.
