Patricia H. Rossman, 88, of  Smiley Stop Rd, Wampum (Wayne Twp.) died on  Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Creek Meadows in Zelienople following a short  illness.

Born March 11, 1925 in Ellwood City,  she was the daughter of the late John D. and Lynne Wiegel Hayden.  She was married for 48 years to Paul L. Rossman who passed away on October 15, 1995.

Patricia graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943.  She served in the US Coast Guard during WWII.  She worked at Mathews Conveyor, where she was the first woman foreman in the machine shop.  She was also the Wayne Twp. Tax Collector for many years.  Mrs. Rossman volunteered with the Meal on Wheels Program in Ellwood City from 1998 – 2009 and was a member of the Ellwood City Hospital Auxiliary.  She enjoyed reading, bird watching, and square dancing.  Her most cherished time was spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Lee (Cathie) Rossman of Tampa, Florida, Rodger (Brooke) Rossman of Wayne Twp; daughter, Pam (Tim) Gorgas of Ellport; eight grandchildren, Todd (Brenda) Rossman, Tiffany Rossman, Ryan (Kelly) Rossman, Lindsay (Ryan) Anthony, Erik (Lisa) Montozzi, Adam Gorgas, Mark (Megan) Davis, Laura (Sean) McKain; and ten great grandchildren.

The last of her family, she was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Rae Staggers Hayden, and siblings; Alice Catherine Hayden, Denny Hayden, Fran Boyd, Connie Rich, Martha Welling, Leota Shaffer, Kay McIntyre, William, Jessie and Michael Hayden

Visiting hours will be held on  Thursday April 11, from 4-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 am with Sean Brubaker, Pastor at Calvin Presbyterian Church  officiating.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ellwood City Public Library .
