Paul S. Johnson Jr. 52

Paul S. Johnson Jr., 52, of Dushane St., New Castle died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Jameson Memorial Hospital.

Born February 16, 1962 in New Castle,he was the son of the late Paul S.and Evelyn M. Johnson Sr. He was married on July 13, 1996 to Deborah R. Dean Johnson, who survives.

Paul graduated from Union High School in 1981, where he played basketball and football. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Sharon. He formerly worked as a custodian at the Housing Authority of New Castle, the New Castle School District, and at Slippery Rock University. He was an avid Steeler fan and he enjoyed music. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Deborah, survivors include a son, Shawn Johnson of New Castle; two step children, Dan Gardner of New Castle, Niya Dean of Farrell; three sisters, Cheryl Johnson and Darlene Johnson, both of New Castle, Carol Seawood of Youngstown, Ohio; a brother, Greg Johnson of New Castle; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, in laws, cousins, and good friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014 from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Pastor Leon Avery Jr. and Pastor David Young will officiate. Interment will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
