Pearl A. Shellenberger

Pearl A. Shellenberger, 93, of Ellwood City (Franklin Twp.) passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Ellwood City Hospital.

Born November 28, 1921 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Thomas and Minnie Morford Furnival. She was married for 37 years to Donald K. Shellenberger, who survives.

Pearl graduated in 1939 from Beaver Falls High School and was an active long time member of their class reunion committee. Mrs. Shellenberger had held an executive secretarial position at Geneva College, retiring in 1983 after 28 years of service. Pearl was a member of Lillyville Church of God. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband, Don; a daughter, Marilyn (Dr. Michael) Hink of New Castle; five step children, Lawrence Shellenberger of Kentucky, Allan Shellenberger of Colorado, Donna Mayhue of Kentucky, Wanda Shellenberger of North Carolina, Margaret Meyer of Rochester; three granddaughters, Stephanie Bryan of Columbus, Ohio, Laura Eve, and Erika Jevcak, both of New Castle; eight great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Benny E. Shaner; a daughter, Patricia Beeson; two brothers, Richard and Joseph Furnival; and two sisters, Velma Wright and Mildred Veon.

There will be no public visitation. Friends will be received Saturday January 10 from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 pm at the Lillyville Church of God. Her pastor, Rev. Dennis Ardnt will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lillyville Church of God.
