Phyllis Maeola Mcconnell

Phyllis Maeola (Goddard) McConnell, 87, of New Castle went home to be with her Lord on April 2, 2015.

Born November 14, 1927, she was the daughter of Lloyd C. & Erma L. Goddard. On February 17, 1946 she married the love her life, Kenneth H. McConnell who passed away April 3, 1978. She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years and her son Clayton T. McConnell.

Mae had many jobs through the years, greenhouse worker, school bus driver but most of all Mother to seven children.

She is survived by her children, Joanne McConnell of Wampum (Daughter-in-Law, Wife to Clayton McConnell), Kenneth W. (Diane) McConnell of Youngstown, Carl W. (Sheila) McConnell of Bessemer, Vera M. (Chuck) Wilkins of Portland, Oregon, Elaine L (John) Mehaffey of Newell, West Virginia, Eugene R McConnell of Ellwood City and Kevin H. (Lisa) McConnell of New Castle, brother Winn Goddard of Bend, Oregon, sisters, Bettie McAnlis of Arizona, Nancy Eshleman of Texas, and Thelma Walker of New Castle. She was the proud, loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Mae’s care has been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 3 from 5 -8 pm. Friends will also be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11. Services will be officiated by her son, Pastor Eugene McConnell and her son in law, Pastor John Mehaffey. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Pastor Russ VanNest will also assist with the services.

The family of Mae would like to thank the entire staff at Overlook Medical Center for their kindness and care shown toward our mother.
