Ralph L. Marshall, 90, of Ellwood Rd. , New Castle (Wayne Twp.) passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 8, 1927 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Earl and Elizabeth Barkley Marshall. He was married for 65 years to Sally A. Mayberry Marshall who passed away November 30, 2014.
Ralph graduated from Lincoln High School and was a member of Bell Memorial Church. He was a Veteran of the US Navy. Ralph was a lifetime Union Carpenter. He was one of the founding members of the Wayne Twp Volunteer Fire Department which he served for many years. He was also a founding member and past president of the National Horse Lovers Association. He loved his horses. He enjoyed spending his winters at his home in Umatilla, Florida.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Carl) Johns of Wayne Twp., Sherry (Mike) Deegan of Slippery Rock Twp., Janet (Todd) Brest of Perry Twp.; two sons, Randy (Diane Fritzman) Marshall of Wayne Twp., Gary (Cindy) Marshall of Wayne Twp; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
The last of his family, Ralph was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Gallagher and Velma Hauserman, and two brothers, Kenneth and Dean Marshall.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 27 from 2 until the time of the funeral service at 6 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Rev. Keith Black will officiate the service. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Slippery Rock Church Cemetery.
