Ralph W. Hill, 88, of Hollow Rd., New Castle (Castlewood) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his residence.

Born May 13, 1927 in Castlewood. Ralph was married for 62 years to the late Dorothy Jane Jenkins Hill who passed away April 17, 2012.

Ralph retired from the Ellwood City Forge where he worked in the Maintenance Department for over 35 years. He was a member of First Christian Church in Ellwood City. Ralph was a US Veteran stationed in France and Germany during WWII. He was also a member of the F&AM Lodge # 599 in Ellwood City.

Survivors include three children: Jim (Cindy) Hill, Byron (Theresa) Hill and Patty (Chuck) Hutchison; four grandchildren, Keri (Ryan) Ronald, Matthew (Kari Ann) Hill, Barbie (Mark) Maxwell, and Jon (Rachel) Hutchison; ten great grandchildren, Lacey Hart, Garrett, Randalyn, Nathaniel, and Maverick Hill; Adam, Maria, and Gabriel Bryant; Ian and Abby Hutchison; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, Ralph was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Hill Moyer and step father, Omer Moyer and a sister, Lois Sprosty.

Private services were held on Thursday at the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City with his minister, Tom O’Brien officiating. Military rites were offered by the Veteran Honor Guard. Interment followed in Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
