Richard B.”Woody” Edmiston

Richard B.”Woody” Edmiston, 52, of Fletcher Hill Rd. Wampum (Shenango Twp.) died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 16, 2012 in Boardman, Ohio.

Born March 24, 1959 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Chester L. and Dorothy McQuiston Edmiston.

He was married for 30 years to Michele Lenhart Edmiston, who survives.

Dick was a lifelong truck driver, currently working for McClymonds Trucking. He was an active member of the Chewton Christian Church, where he served as an elder. He belonged to the Patriots in Action. Dick had many diverse interests and hobbies.

In addition to his wife, Michele, survivors include 2 sons – Benjamin R. Edmiston of Ellwood City, Matthew M. Edmiston of New Castle; 6 sisters – Janet (Dave) Womer of Hermitage, Evelyn (Dave) MacDonald of New Castle, Betty Johnston of Butler, Patricia (Bill) Skorupan of Transfer, Dale Ann Edmiston (Bill Wright) of Slippery Rock, Marilyn (Greg) Fisher of Manassas, VA; 3 brothers – William (Elizabeth) Edmiston of New Wilmington, Robert (Donna) Edmiston of Volant, John (Kati) Edmiston of New Wilmington; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Ellen Edmiston and a niece, Sandy May Edmiston.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 – 7 on Sunday, February 19 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the Chewton Christian Church on Monday, February 20 at 11:00 am with Pastor Dick Allen officiating.
