Richard P. Himes, 86, of North Sewickley Township passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his residence.
Born February 22, 1937 in Porter, PA. He was married to Maxine M. Hollabaugh Himes for 61 years when she passed away on April 16, 2016.
Richard had graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1955. He worked at Colonial Clay Production in Fallston for 19 years and retired from Littell Steel in Fallston after 25 years. He enjoyed traveling, especially going to casinos. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and working in his garden. Richard took pleasure in cooking and baking and loved to tinker.
Survivors include five daughters, Ginger (Gary) Atkinson of Poland, OH, Cheri (Rick) Rowles of Punxsutawney, Paula (Scott) Perry of Dayton, PA, Wendy (John) Cooper of Beaver Falls, and Diane (Randy) Cunningham of Ellwood City; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, and three half-sisters Donna, Shirley, and Doris.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, granddaughter Cari Lewis, and sister Sally Thomas.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday January 18, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday, January 19, from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:30 am at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. His son-in-law Pastor Gary Atkinson will officiate.
His final resting place will be in Concord Church Cemetery Beaver Falls, PA.
