Robert B. Jackson Jr, 86, of Jackson Lane , New Beaver Boro passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at UPMC Passavant Hospital following a short illness.

Born January 2, 1931 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Robert B. and Eleanor R. McKinley Jackson Sr. He was married for 66 years to Helen E. Little Jackson who passed away March 2, 2017.

Bob was a lifelong dairy farmer, owning and operating Jackson Farms. Active in the community, he was a member and served as an Elder, Deacon, and Trustee of the Wampum Presbyterian Church. Bob served and was the First President of the Mohawk Area School Board. He also served on the School Boards at the Lawrence County Vo Tech School and the Intermediate Unit. Bob was a member and past president of the Lawrence County Conservation District., former membership chairman of the Beaver Lawrence County Farm Bureau . He also served on the Lawrence County and the State Republican Committees. He was a licensed pilot and a former member and president of the Flying Farmers of America. Bob was also involved with many other interests and activities on the local, county and state level.

Survivors include three sons, William (Sharon) Jackson, James (Charmaine) Jackson, and Robert B. “Charlie” (Lauren) Jackson III, all of New Galilee; daughter, Linda Shellhammer of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; sister, Thelma J. McMillin of Apopka, Florida; brother, Raymond C. (Mary Ann) Jackson of Wampum; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by a son in law, Dale Shellhammer, and a brother in law, Ed McMillan.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday September 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Friends will also be received on Tuesday, from 10 until the time of the fuernal service at 11 am at the funeral home. His pastor, Rev. Dr. William R. McGary will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
