Robert “Bob” E. Baney

Robert E. “Bob” Baney, 69, of  Portersville Rd., Ellwood City (Burnstown) died unexpectedly on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Ellwood City Hospital.

Born December 28, 1942 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Mary Matheny Baney Sr.

Bob retired as the owner and operator of Baney Construction.   He graduated from Lincoln High School and served in the Navy from 1960 to 1964.  Bob enjoyed being a handyman, working on cars, and talking on CB radios.

Survivors include his companion, Judith Baker of Ellwood City; two sons, Keven (Cindy) Burgess of Ellwood City, John (Kim) Baney of Enon Valley; daughter, Susan Baney of Aliquippa; step-children, Chris, Patty and Larry; two sisters, Rosemary Szakelyhidi of Ellwood City, Becky Long of IN; three brothers, Roger Baney of Ellwood City, Roy Baney of Homewood, George Baney of FL, and eleven grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Caplinger Baney.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday August 6, 2012 from 2-4 and  7 until the time of the funeral service at  9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor Carmen Venezie will officiate.  Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard.
