Robert E. Godwin, 86, of Wampum passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the Passavant Retirement Center in Zelienople.
Born July 11, 1933 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph T. and Olga (Scmetheny) Godwin. He was married to Mary Bartley Godwin for 61 years as they were married November 1, 1958. She survives.
Robert retired from the Port Authority of Allegheny County where he was a bus driver for 37 years. He was an active member of Dayspring Ministries where he was an usher and greeter. Robert served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening and cars.
In addition to his wife, Mary, survivors include two daughters, Shari (Clifford) Watson and Beth Godwin, both of Wampum; son, Matthew Godwin of New Castle; three sisters, Joanne Ritchey of North Huntingdon, Pat Carr of Gibsonia, Peggy Barncord of Selbyville, Delaware; one brother, Joe (Janet) Godwin of North Versailles; sister in law, Linda Larson of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Loren Darby, Justin Watson, and Monica (Scott) Fellenger; and one great grandchild, Don Darby.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Parker.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday November 9 from 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 pm with Pastor Thom Brown and Pastor Pam Thiry officiating. Military rites will be offered by the Veteran Honor Guard. Final interment will take place in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park in North Huntingdon Twp.
