Robert G. Mccarter Sr.

Robert G. McCarter Sr., 66, of New Castle passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Edison Manor following an extended illness.

Born January 4, 1951 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Harvey T. and Elizabeth Sheffey McCarter.

Bob had formerly worked for the Borough of Ellwood City and also for Alsy Lighting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chewton. Bob attended Lincoln High School where he was a member of the track team. He was an avid Pittsburgh Sports Fan. His most cherished time was spent with family.

Survivors include two sons, Robert G. McCarter Jr. and Charles H. McCarter, both of New Castle; sister, Janet Sheffey Scott; brother, John Kenneth McCarter, both of Beaver Falls; 3 grandchildren, Sierra and Shayna McCarter of Ellwood City, Georgia McCarter of New Castle and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brother, Harvey McCarter, sister, Cynthia Johnson, and a stepdaughter, Heather Gahagan.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday February 25 from 10 am until the time of the memorial service at 11 am at the First Baptist Church in Chewton. His pastor, Rev. Eric Board will officiate the services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
