Robert J. Hozick, 79, of Snake Run Rd., Wampum (Shenango Twp.) died on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Ellwood City Hospital following an extended illness.
Born January 7, 1935 in Chewton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Albina Kosior Hozick. He was married for 54 years to Helen Louise Rychlicki Hozick who survives.
Bob retired from Babcock & Wilcox following 34 years of service. He then worked at Koppel Steel for 8 years. He was a member of the former St. Monica’s Church in Wampum and currently was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish. Bob graduated from Wampum HIgh School. He was a Veteran of the US Army and a member of the Chewton Polish White Eagles Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his wife, Helen Louise, survivors include three sons, Robert N. Hozick of Ellwood City David A. Hozick and Edward J. Hozick, both of Wampum; sister, Barbara Hairhoger of Ellwood City; and two grandchildren, Robert A. and Andi Jo Hozick.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Holy Redeemer Church on Wednesday at 10 am. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
