Robert J. “Jake” Bingle

Robert J. “Jake” Bingle, 83, of Bingle Lane, Fombell died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Ellwood City Hospital.

Born May 2, 1929 in Fombell, he was the son of the late Harry Charles and Della Mae Newton Bingle .

He was married for 61 years to Marcella “Sally” Davis Bingle, who survives.

Jake retired in 2008 from Continental Fabricating Corp. in Zelienople.  He was a member of the Lillyville Church of God.  Jake was an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoyed wood carving and metal detecting.  He collected  Indian relics and arrowheads.  He was also a rattle snake hunter.

In addition to his wife, Sally, survivors include four children – Rodney Bingle, Connie (David) Shaw,  Kenneth (Judy) Bingle, and Darlene (Daryl) Rowlands. all of Ellwood City; sister – Shirley (Norman) Northcraft of Black Valley, PA; brother – Donald “Mo” (Florence) Bingle of Fombell; six grandchildren – Matthew Smalley, Ruby Smalley, Chrissa Blair, Andrea Roberts, Darren Rowlands, and Dayne Rowlands and  two great grandchildren – Regan Rowlands and Logan Bingle.

He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel in 1953; a sister, Joyce “Sue” Lample; and two brothers – Charles Ross Bingle, and William Harvey Bingle, who was killed during the Battle of the Bulge.

Friends will be received on Saturday, June 16 from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 at the Lillyville Church of God. Pastor Dennis Arndt will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home – Ellwood City.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital.
