Robert John Hervatine

Robert John Hervatine, 58, of Wampum New Galilee Rd., New Beaver Boro died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at  UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born October 2, 1953 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Steve and Clara Hajec Hervatine.  He was married for 32 years to Lori Wilson Hervatine, who survives.

Robert graduated in 1971 from Mohawk High School and then attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  He was an avid hunter and golfer.  Robert enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.  He was devoted to his wife, children, family and friends.  Robert lived his life fully, with great compassion and consideration for others.  As a result, his family and friends looked to him for leadership and guidance.

In addition to his wife, Lori, survivors include a son – Robert J. Hervatine of Spokane, WA; a daughter – Adele Hervatine of Pittsburgh; a sister – Kathy (Joseph “Sonny”) Olayer of Ellwood City; and three brothers – Tim (Cindy) Hervatine of Wampum, Steve (Jeannie) Hervatine of Mt. Jackson, and Paul (Belinda) Hervatine of Wampum.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Hervatine in 1984.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-9 on Friday July 13, 2012 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 14 at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
