Robert R. McLaughlin Sr.

Robert R. McLaughlin Sr., 79, of North Sewickley Twp passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born October 28, 1945 in Park Gate, he was the son of the late Christopher Alex and Katurah Wineman McLaughlin. He married Elsie I. Curtis McLaughlin on September 11, 1976. They were married for 32 years when she passed away on January 15, 2009.

Robert graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963 and then served in the Navy. He worked at the Ellwood City Forge as a heat treat operator for 45 years until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of Park Gate Baptist Church and served as a Volunteer Firefighter for North Sewickley Township.

Survivors include son, Robert R. McLaughlin, Jr. and daughter, Brandie M. (Rick) Means both of Portersville; three stepsons, Samuel J. (Lisa) Duncan Jr., Wayne A. (Beth) Duncan both of Ellwood City, and Mark (Laurie) Duncan of North Beaver Twp.; stepdaughter, Janet L. (Ken "Zeke") Zikeli of Ellport; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and sister, Rachel Hoover of North Carolina.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two sisters, Louella Bookamer and Sara Campbell and two brothers Clark and David McLaughlin.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday February 20, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday February 21, 2025 from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Military Rites will be observed. Pastor Steve Plyler of Bell Memorial will officiate. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
