Sally J. Jones, 82, of Wampum passed away peacefully with family by her side Thursday, September 30, 2021 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital.

Born April 20, 1939 in Newton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Curtis K. and Lila M. Pascoe Porter.

Sally is survived by her husband of 63 years, William H. “Bill” Jones. Together they raised five children. All survive. Three daughters, Sherry (Kevin) Patton, Susan Nemes, Sheila (Robert) Newton; two sons, William H. (Maribeth) Jones Jr. and Eric J. (Toni) Jones. She was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Sally was a 1957 graduate of New Castle High School. She began her working career at W.T. Grant in New Castle while still a student. She left her first job to work as a multilith operator for LIberty Mutual. After a time dedicated to raising her children, she returned to the work force as an order clerk at Medusa Cement Company where she remained until her retirement in 1998.

She was an active member of the Wampum Presbyterian Church for over 50 years serving on the board of deacons and as an auditor. Sally was also of member of the International Harvester Collectors Club, and enjoyed attending local shows and the national Red Power Roundups, traveling to many destinations stretching from Pennsylvania to South Dakota and Alabama to Michigan, routinely accompanied by several grandchildren and most recently by one great grandchild. She enjoyed dancing with the Paws and Taws and participated several times at the English Mountain Square Dance Retreat. She was also a member of the former Big Beaver Grange 1578 and the Mahoning Valley Grange.

She took great pride in hosting holiday dinners for the family, extended family, and special friends, especially at Thanksgiving.

Calling hours will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home in Wampum on Saturday October 2, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. On Sunday, October 3, there will be a brief visitation at the funeral home at 1:00 pm with the funeral at 2:00 pm with the committal service immediately following. Rev. Elizabeth Wallace will officiate.

Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
