Sheldon Harry “Shelly” Leviere Sr.

Sheldon Harry “Shelly” LeViere Sr., 89, of Ellport passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 under Hospice Care at the Haven Nursing Home.

Born November 4, 1931 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late David W. and Lois Young LeViere. He was married to Sally Lou Lewis LeViere for 68 years as they were married on November 8, 1952.

Sheldon graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. A United States Army Veteran, he served in the Korean War. He worked for Russell Trucking for 32 years. Sheldon was proud that he was a life long member of the First Church of God in Ellwood City. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling and bowling. Sheldon loved playing baseball and softball and was on numerous teams. His most cherished moments were spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife Sally; two sons, Sheldon H. “Skip” (Chris) LeViere Jr. of Ellwood City and Douglas L. (Connie) LeViere of New Castle; daughter, Bonnie S. LeViere of Beaver Falls; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The last of his family, he was preceded in death by a brother, David E. LeViere and two sisters, Afton Barkley and Lena Mae Hartzell.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday August 29, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Family and friends will also be received at the First Church of God on Monday, August 30 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am. Pastor Phil Conklin will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
