Born November 30, 1936 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Alvi Charles Wehman and Violet Wiley Wehman Luchka. She was married on July 9, 1954 to John Horace Weigel who passed away in 2007.

Sherry grew up on VanGorder Mill Road surrounded by cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. She lived most of her life there and continued to enjoy the company of her relatives along the Slippery Rock Creek. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954. When her husband retired from the steel mill and became the Pennsylvania State Director for the Loyal Order of the Moose, she was by his side traveling all over the state visiting and encouraging their members and leaders. Sherry could describe every mile marker of every exit on our four lane highways. When Sherry wasn’t on the Slippery Rock Creek, she enjoyed summers on Lake Erie. She could be fiercely competitive in a game of Texas Hold Em, Bingo, or Scrabble. She loved her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and they, in turn, loved her.
