Thelma G. Miller, 93, of Ellwood City passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the VNA Hospice in Butler following a brief illness.
Born June 7, 1921 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Julia Fenzie White. She was married for 58 years to Hobart “Hobie” J. Miller who passed away January 14, 2004.
Thelma graduated from the Rayen High School in Youngstown, Ohio. She worked as a secretary at Matthews Conveyor Company and also at JC Penney’s. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Thelma was a former member of the Ellwood City Order of the Eastern Star and the Connequenessing Country Club. She was an avid golfer and bowler. Thelma also enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, and crocheting.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandy (Raymond) Miller of Ellwood City; a son, Ronald (Judy) Miller of Vienna, Ohio; sister, Donna Soos of San Jose, California; four grandchildren, John (Debbie) Miller, Steven Miller, Julie Miller, and Michael Miller; two great grandchildren, Cassie and Owen Miller.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Paul Miller in 1969, a daughter, Diane E. Miller in 2001, and a brother, Donald White.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday May 12, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Pat Cleary officiating. Rev. Dave Wilson will assist the services.
Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
