Thomas R. Straitwell

Thomas R. Straitwell, 60, of Ellwood Rd., New Castle (Slippery Rock Twp.) died Friday, August 8, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born April 20, 1954 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Robert M. and Sara Irene Shaw Straitwell.

Tom graduated from New Wilmington High School and was a computer analyst. He enjoyed astronomy. He loved animals and was a strong supporter of the Humane Society.

Survivors include a sister, Sandra (Don) Rape with whom he resided; niece, Hollie Rape; nephew, Matt Rape; and a great niece, Amari Jones.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday August 11 from 6 until the time of the memorial service at 7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Rev. Todd Davis of the Wampum Methodist Church will officiate.
