Violet Jean Trudo, 85, formerly of Northview Estates in Ellwood City died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Evergreen Nursing Center. She had formerly lived in Rochester and Beaver.
Born June 27, 1929 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Jessie Margaret Barnes Campbell. She was married to Louis W. Trudo Jr. who passed away September 29, 1999.
Jean and her late husband were known for raising chinchillas for over 30 years, winning many awards. She loved to travel and considered every trip an adventure. Jean and her husband took many cruises and enjoyed going to Disney World at Christmas time. She was a member of the Wurtemburg Perry Fire Auxiliary and the Woodlawn Chapter #164 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Jean was affiliated with the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Jeff) MacDonald of Perry Twp., Jinny (Daniel) Rife of Bradenton, Florida; two grandsons, Jeffrey (Sara) MacDonald of Alexandria, Virginia, David Rife of Bradenton; two granddaughters, Tammy Rife of Tampa, Florida, Tracey Rife of Akron, Ohio; one granddaughter in law, Nicole MacKey Rife of Columbus, Ohio; and three great granddaughters, Jasmyn Rife of Tampa, and Ashley and Justice Alvarado of Bradenton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, John Louis Rife on June 24, 2011.
Friends will be received Saturday September 6 from 1 to 4 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. The Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church will conduct a comfort service at 1 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation. Her pastor, Rev. Dr. Daniel Stinson will officiate. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church Roof Fund.
